The antibody may cross-react with other activated EGF receptor family members (e.g. ErbB2). Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to residues surrounding Tyr1045 of human EGF receptor. Antibodies are purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.
